ABOUT THIS WEB SITE
There are a number of Reformed Baptist churches in New Zealand, on both the North and South Islands. The earliest churches began in the mid-1970s and the number of churches has increased gradually over the years. For most of that time there were no formal denominational or associational ties between the churches, though many of them worked together and supported one another on an informal basis. This mutual encouragement and fellowship was based on the common doctrine and practice that distinguishes Reformed Baptist churches from others in the larger Christian community.
In March 2002 discussions were initiated with a view to formalising the links between the churches by way of a Fellowship or Association. This led, in May 2005, to the inauguration of the Fellowship of Reformed Baptist Churches in New Zealand. Click here to view the Constitution.
The Directory page provides information on:
- Formally constituted churches which are members of the Fellowship.
- Other Reformed Baptist churches, fellowships and individuals.
Material on this web site which is general in nature or common to the Reformed Baptist churches may be accessed through the navigation bar on the left, while information produced by, or specific to, individual churches may be found on their own web sites (these can be accessed through the Directory).
This website was originally conceived in 1999 and provided as a service to the churches by Dafydd Hughes (then the Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Christchurch, and now the Pastor of Crosspoint Church, Palmerston North). In September 2005 the site was adopted by the Fellowship as its official web site and continues to be maintained by Dafydd with the assistance of others from time to time..
It is our hope and prayer that the information we present here may prove to be a useful contribution towards our fulfilment of the commission given to us by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, that we "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that [He] has commanded [us]" (Matthew 28:19-20).
